Crew

The NESW Info Share crew is a group of rotating representatives from each New England state (and sometimes our allied national organizations). Crew members are expected to treat this role as one of hospitality, rather than leadership dominance. As such, they are asked to become active participants in the Info Share and take on the following responsibilities:

  • Regularly attend our bi-weekly NESW Info Share meetings
  • Keep the Info Share up to date with the goings-on of their state
  • Keep interested people in their state up to date with the goings-on of the Info Share
  • Share the NESW Info Share invite with people in their state who may be interested in joining the collective
  • Find someone else to take over their role when they feel unable to take on these responsibilities
a collage and pencil illustration of 5 silhouettes sitting around a table together. on the table is a checkered tablecloth, wine glasses, plates, dishes of food, a vase of flowers, and a candle.

You can think of the crew like a dinner party:

  • A couple roommates invite a small group of people over (say 5-10) for a dinner party.
  • Everyone brings a dish to share!
  • The hosts lead with hospitality, providing the table for everyone to gather around.
  • There is enough space for everyone to sit, eat, and talk without bumping elbows.
  • Someone else might host the dinner party next time!

Ways the dinner party might not work out so well:

  • Not many people bring a dish to share. (There’s not enough food!)
  • The hosts take up all the space. (And spend the whole time talking about themselves…)
  • There are too many people! (Not everyone fits at the table, people break off into isolated segments)
an empty table with an empty chair. a table cloth, empty dishes, wine glasses, and a candelabra are on the table. two silhouettes are talking in one corner, while two others are isolated on a bench nearby.
